Will Cotton's "Rose" oil/linen

Less than a month until we’re celebrating the 10th Annual Sugar & Champagne Affair. With desserts and bubbles on the brain, I’m experiencing a sugar high of sorts and am officially addicted to the beautiful art of pastry making, dessert design and cotton candy-esque confections.

Speaking of Cotton, I have always been slightly obsessed with the artist Will Cotton’s candy and cake portraits from a past Mary Boone Gallery exhibit. Cotton first bakes or makes the candy and confections he then paints. His work, which ranges from oils on linen featuring lollipop tiaras and popsicle trees to the Candy Land board game setting he created for Katy Perry’s “California Gurls” video, is about to take a sweet turn into the world of chocolate. I for one can’t wait to see what he discovers and creates for us to feast our eyes on next.
