Design By Nature will be donating three exclusive floral arrangements to Sugar & Champagne. The arrangements will be raffled off to support the Washington Humane Society's fund-raising efforts for the evening.

Just added to the Sugar & Champagne Affair’s food truck line up: Sabor’a Street!

Sabor’a Street, literally “flavor of the street”, is a food truck selling Latin-inspired street food to hungry Washingtonians.  It is the vision of husband-and-wife team Jorge Pimentel and Christine Sarapu.  Chef Pimentel, a native of the Dominican Republic, has worked his way up the ranks of some of DC’s most flavorful kitchens including Mark & Orlando’s, Masa 14, and Commonwealth.

The fare is Chef Jorge Pimentel’s interpretation of street food from Latin America, the Caribbean and Spain including staples such arepas, tostones, churros and more. Plus, their meat is all natural, grass-fed, and hormone-free, and we have vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free/wheat-free options available.

New for Sugar & Champagne this year, we’ve invited the top food trucks to join us in showing support for the Washington Humane Society.

The gourmet mobile meal units will be parked along M Street outside of The Ritz Carlton and ready to help us generate some pre-event excitement for both guests and their pets. Starting at 4pm, you will be able to stroll up to the trucks for a taste of everything from empanadas and mac ‘n cheese to pizza, churros and lobster rolls. The food trucks are generously donating 50% of their proceeds from 4-8pm on 2/1 directly to WHS so please make sure to schedule a doggie-friendly-dining walk on Tuesday February 1st and treat yourself to one of the tastiest delights to roll this way in a long time.

Event News :: Food Trucks To Donate 50% of 2/1 Sales to Washington Humane Society

Following a meeting at The Ritz-Carlton yesterday, we made sure to stop and say hello upon seeing the bright yellow Cap Mac DC food truck in the area. Cap Mac, along with three other mobile gourmet food trucks, will be rolling up to The Ritz on Tuesday February 1st in support of the Sugar & Champagne Affair’s fund-raiser for the Washington Humane Society.

The food trucks will be contributing 50% of their evening sales’ proceeds (4pm – 8pm) to the cause — please make an effort to check out the trucks on your way into the event. Better yet, take your pooch for a walk prior to the event and pick up something to have waiting for you at home…you never know when a sudden mac ‘n cheese craving will strike!

VIP Chef’s Tasting Room Profile : Restaurant Eve

The husband and wife team, of Dublin native Chef Cathal Armstrong and his restaurant veteran wife, Meshelle Armstrong, have created Restaurant Eve; a passion based on experience and a name lent by their first child.

The 34 seat destination Tasting Room is Chef Armstrong’s culinary showcase of ‘Modern American Cooking with Classical French Influences’. Here he features 5 and 9 course prix fixe tasting menus, highlighting the freshest of seasonal ingredients and local Virginia produce.  The upscale Bistro appeals to the neighborhood and boasts both flavor and selection with choices such as Bouillabaisse, Braised Shortribs, and Salt Baked Prawns.

Armstrong has a strong commitment to sourcing the best ingredients that local farmers can provide in the pursuit of excellence.
